To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what progress his Department has made on the appointment of the Special Representative for Anti-Muslim Hostility; whether it will be a regulated public appointment, a special adviser or direct ministerial appointment; whether it has been advertised; and whether it will be appointed by open and fair competition.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
