To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps he is taking to strengthen the UK’s relationship with NATO allies.
Louise Jones
The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence, Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Ministry of Defence) (Minister for the Armed Forces)
NATO is the cornerstone of our security, and we are strengthening our relationships with Allies every day.
Together we support Ukraine, develop new capabilities, and deepen defence partnerships, with new bilateral agreements already signed with France, Germany, Norway and Poland.
Our Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed alongside NATO Allies in the High North.
And at the NATO Summit this week, the Prime Minister and Defence Secretary will meet their counterparts and strenghten our alliance further.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
