To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the answer of 9 September 2024, to Question 3012, on Road Signs and Markings, what is the status of his Department's monitoring of the partly commenced legislation; and if he will make it his policy to bring forward secondary legislation on street naming to implement the provisions of Section 81 of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023 in full including the local referendum provision on changes to street names.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
