To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether his Department has received representations from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority or its mayor since July 2024 on (a) council tax reform and (b) land value taxation.

The Government keeps all aspects of local government finance, including council tax, under review and engages regularly with a wide range of stakeholders, including combined authorities and mayors. The Department does not routinely comment on discussions with individual stakeholders.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
