To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to the Answer of 19 February 2024 to Question 13523 on Counter-terrorism: Prisoners, how many referrals were made to the Prevent programme by HM Prison and Probation Service in each financial year since 2015/16, broken down by category of extremism.

Table 24 of the latest Prevent statistics, and Table 14 of the previous release, show HMPPS referrals to Prevent by type of concern from 2015/16 onwards.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
