To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment his Department has made of the potential merits of freezing Army personnel postings in the context of the geopolitical situation.

The Department has no plans to freeze Army personnel movements in the context of the geopolitical situation and personnel management continues under existing arrangements to meet the needs of the army, and to ensure the right people capability is provided to fulfil our national Defence commitments.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
