To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department has a joint working group on Sudan with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Defence does not have a joint working group on Sudan with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. However, Defence does work closely with colleagues in the FCDO to coordinate on Sudan and to support FCDO-led engagement on peace initiatives.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
