To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many (a) men and (b) women have transferred from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to the Civil Service in each year since 2010.

Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Seafarers are employees of the Civil Service. Persons wishing to apply for and accept alternative employment are not obliged to inform the RFA of its details and therefore no accurate records are available.

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
