To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether the Cardington Sheds are being used to train border force staff for the removal of asylum seekers to Rwanda.

At present, Border Force staff are not being trained at the HOMES Training Facility in Bedfordshire, this facility is only being used for the purpose of training Immigration Enforcement officers and contracted escort officers.

Since 2015, the government has had training facilities to ensure escorts can respond professionally to the challenges of removing people with no right to be in the UK. This includes practical sessions, so escorts have the skills they need to deal with different scenarios.

As we continue to remove those with no legal right to be here, we will all ensure new escort officers will undertake required high quality training as necessary.
