To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what has been the average time taken to respond to public inquiries by his Department in each of the last five years; and whether he plans to introduce measures to improve this.

The Ministry of Defence has not been required to respond to any interim or final reports of statutory public inquiries under the Inquiries Act, or to independent non-statutory inquiries, within the last five years.
