We are developing a cross-Government Chemicals Strategy to frame the work we are doing across chemicals and put us on a path for improved chemicals management. It will set out our priorities and principles for taking regulatory action to protect human health and the environment. We are aiming to publish the Chemicals Strategy this year. This will set out our approach to PFAS. We are committed to ensuring that the Chemical Strategy is developed in line with the environmental principles. A 'Regulatory Management Options Analysis' (RMOA) on PFAS was published in spring 2023 by the Health and Safety Executive. Taking account of the Precautionary Principle, this recommended initiating risk management measures including the development of restrictions under UK REACH on certain uses of PFAS. We have accepted these recommendations.
