Defence Ministers regularly discuss the provision of support to Ukraine with our European partners and NATO Allies.

We welcome the EU's announcement of a new training scheme for Ukrainian personnel, and have worked closely with EU partners to share our knowledge and experience to help shape this new scheme.

A number of EU countries will continue to support the UK-led programme to train Ukrainian personnel in Britain. As of 20 October 2022, we have already trained more than 7,000 Ukrainian personnel in the UK, with an ambition for another 20,000 in 2023. We will work together to ensure the schemes remain complementary and best respond to the requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
