To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps her Department is taking to help mitigate the impact of rising temperatures caused by climate change on maternal health in Pakistan.
UK funding is supporting a portfolio of climate activities in Pakistan focussing on three core priorities: Clean Energy, Adaptation and Resilience, and Climate Finance. This work underlines the UK's commitment to tackling climate change, building on the outcomes of COP 26.
Pakistan is one of 57 countries that made a commitment at COP26 to develop climate resilient, low carbon health systems. The UK, along with the Government of Pakistan and other local and international development partners have recently convened a climate and health policy forum to support Pakistan to build capacity and develop relevant public health policies to address the impacts of climate change on population health.
