Department for Work and Pensions written question – answered at on 20 May 2022.
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to the Child Poverty Action Group's report entitled You have to take it back to the bricks: Reforming emergency support to reduce demand for food banks, published March 2022, what assessment her Department has made of the validity of that report's findings; and if she will make a statement.
No such assessment has been made.
Foodbanks are independent, charitable organisations and the Department for Work and Pensions does not have any role in their operation. There is no consistent and accurate measure of food bank usage at a constituency or national level.
