To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have modelled the potential co-circulation of COVID-19 and flu among the over 50s in the 2022/23 flu season; and if so, what were the results of that modelling.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is currently undertaking independent flu and COVID-19 models. The UKHSA anticipates there will not be a significant interaction between the two pathogens and it is more likely that coincidental co-infections will occur. The sum of the independent COVID-19 and flu models will therefore represent the overall impact which may be expected.
