The Department for Transport remains in close contact with the industry through various means, for example, a regular aviation safety industry forum. This forum allows industry to raise pressing safety matters directly.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in its role as the UK regulator has provided guidance to aircraft operators and maintenance organisations to highlight the potential for pitot tubes to become blocked, particularly as airlines return to service aircraft that have been in storage or limited use during the Covid-19 pandemic.
