To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what estimate he has made of the midwifery staffing vacancies in all maternity settings in (a) Coventry, (b) the West Midlands and (c) England; and what steps his Department is taking to help fill those vacancies.
The Department has made no such estimate.
Health Education England is committed to increasing the number of midwifery training places by 25% or 3,650 over a four-year period to ensure future sustainability from 2022.
