To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many meetings and on what dates (a) he, (b) the Financial Conduct Authority and (c) the Prudential Regulation Authority held with representatives of (i) Clifford Chance and (ii) other law firms retained by Liverpool Victoria during the conversion of Liverpool Victoria from a Friendly Society to a Company Limited by Guarantee; and if he will make a statement.

Treasury Ministers and officials have meetings with a wide variety of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery.

Details of ministerial and permanent secretary meetings with external organisations on departmental business are published on a quarterly basis and are available at:

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) are operationally independent from Government. The request for information on meetings the regulators have had has therefore been passed to the FCA and PRA, who will reply directly to the Honourable Member by letter. A copy of the letter will be placed in the Library of the House.
