To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, when he plans to bring forward legislative proposals to exempt children from the increases in remand custody time limits introduced in The Prosecution of Offences (Custody Time Limits) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether he plans to introduce further changes to the remand custody time limits introduced in The Prosecution of Offences (Custody Time Limits) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020, apart from an exemption for children.
Forthcoming regulations will be introduced to remove children from the remit of The Prosecution of Offences (Custody Time Limits) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 as soon as Parliamentary time allows. No further changes to these regulations are currently planned.
