The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) include objectives that directly or indirectly related to local government functions, including with respect to social equality, the environment, and economic growth. Local authorities are supported in this regard by the Local Government Association, who provides detailed guidance and advice, including planning, engaging and implementing actions in support of the SDGs.
