To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what risk assessment his Department undertook on the decision to postpone the IMS trial until after the original release date of Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe; whether that assessment included the risk of new charges being brought against her to extend her sentence; and what mitigating steps his Department is taking to prevent that eventuality.

The adjournment of the November hearings came at the request of Iran's Ministry of Defence and Support for Armed Forces, not from Her Majesty's Government. It would be inappropriate to comment further on the ongoing legal proceedings.
