Department of Health and Social Care written question – answered on 17th November 2020.
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what criteria he is using to select locations to pilot the covid-19 saliva tests.
The pilot sites were selected based on their accreditation status and experience with LAMP and LAMPore, as the protocols would need optimising to work effectively in asymptomatic cohorts during a time of Low Positive Prevalence. Speed of readiness was also a deciding criterion in order to stand this up at pace.
