Day services are an important form of support for people with learning disabilities and we recognise the impact of many day services closing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We want access to these important services restored as soon as is appropriate, in line with social distancing guidelines. We are working with local government to understand their concerns on re-opening these services and to offer guidance on safe ways to do so.

Given the diversity of day service models organised by individual local authorities, decisions on reopening should be made on a local basis and be subject to appropriate risk assessments.
