To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many police officers are employed in England and Wales, by ethnicity.

The Home Office collects and publishes data on the ethnicity of police officers in England and Wales on an annual basis. The latest available data, as at 31 March 2019, can be found in Table D2 of the published workforce statistics, available here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/831666/police-workforce-mar19-tables.ods
Data as at 31 March 2020 are due to be published on 30 July 2020.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
