Treasury written question – answered on 19th May 2020.
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, if his Department will extend the business rates holiday available to the hospitality, retail, and leisure sectors to include the English language teaching sector.
The Government has provided enhanced support to the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors through business rates relief given the direct and acute impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on those sectors.
A range of further measures to support all businesses, including those not eligible for relief, has also been made available. This includes the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to help firms keep people in employment, and the deferral of VAT payments for this quarter.
