To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the financial effect on self-funded care home residents of recent increases in prices from care home providers.

The level of fees charged to people who fund their own care is a private contractual matter.

In the longer term, the Government is committed to establishing a fair and more sustainable basis for adult social care, in the face of future demographic challenge.
