To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, how many people were recruited by her Department in the last 12 months; what proportion of those appointments were made outside of London; and where outside of London those appointments were made.

The Department has recruited 938 people in the last 12 months (Feb 19Jan 20).

8.4% of these appointments have been made outside of London, in areas such as Aberdeen, Billingham, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Ipswich, Manchester, Nottingham, Plymouth and, Swindon.
