To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how many representations she has received from (a) pro-hunting and (b) anti-hunting groups to extend the length of the consultation on banning trophy hunting by a month.

Although we are still analysing the consultation responses received to date, we are not aware of any representations made by any interested party to extend it.

The decision to extend the consultation was taken by Ministers, in line with best practice guidelines. This will reduce the risk of individuals and organisations being unable to fully engage due to the pre-election and Christmas periods. It is usual to consider an extension in circumstances such as these to make sure we hear from all sides of the debate.
