To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he has made to his Turkish counterpart on reports of the use of white phosphorus by that country on Kurdish civilians; and if he will make a statement.

The allegations that white phosphorus has been used against civilians are extremely worrying and it is important that the full facts are established. We have called on all parties to uphold international humanitarian law (IHL); IHL prohibits attacks against civilians irrespective of the weapon used. We continue to monitor the situation.
