Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs written question – answered at on 4 July 2019.
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what agreements the Government has in place for UK fishing vessels to continue to access non-EU distant waters in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
UK fishermen are currently able to access some non-EU distant waters via the EU’s international agreements, for example with Norway and the Faroe Islands. We are undertaking detailed contingency planning in consultation with industry partners, with respect to potential successor agreements in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
