We regularly review the safety of British Embassy staff and embassy contingency plans. This planning enables the embassy to respond to situations such as the recent blackout in Venezuela. I have been in direct communication personally with our Ambassador.
We maintain contact with British Nationals in Venezuela through a Consular Warden network and by ensuring that information is disseminated via the embassy's website. We also ensure that Travel Advice is regularly reviewed, most recently on 8 March, and published on the GOV.UK website.
