To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent representations he has made to his Saudi Arabian counterpart on the continued detention and threatened execution of women’s rights activist, Israa al-Ghomgham.

​We are closely monitoring Ms Ghomgham's case and those of other activists. We continue to raise our concerns on human rights with the Saudi authorities in private. It is a longstanding policy of the British Government to oppose the death penalty in all circumstances, as a matter of principle.
