Foreign and Commonwealth Office written question – answered at on 20 February 2019.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what estimate he has made of the number of people sentenced to death in Yemen in (a) 2015, (b) 2016, (c) 2017 and (d) 2018.
Our lack of access and presence on the ground make it difficult to assess the number of people sentenced to death in Yemen. The UK's position on the use of the death penalty is longstanding and clear; we oppose its use in all circumstances and countries.
