The Government has committed to putting in place a compensation scheme for members of the Windrush generation who have suffered loss as a result of difficulties in demonstrating their lawful immigration status.

The Home Office is currently considering views on the design and operation of the compensation scheme submitted during a recent public consultation, which closed on 16 November.

The compensation scheme is not yet in place to receive applications. We will announce details of the final scheme and how to apply as soon as possible.
