To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what steps he is taking to support the human rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir; and if he will make a statement.

We encourage all states to ensure that their domestic laws meet international human rights standards. Any allegations of human rights violations or abuses is concerning and must be investigated thoroughly, promptly and transparently. We raise these issues, including human rights in both Indian and Pakistani administered Kashmir, with the governments of India and Pakistan.
