To ask Her Majesty's Government what are the present rules regarding the importation of controlled substances into the UK from (1) the European Economic Area, (2) the Republic of Ireland, and (3) the Channel Islands.

Under Section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 the importation and exportation of controlled drugs is prohibited unless under Home Office licence or in accordance with an exception contained within the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001.
