To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment his Department has made of trends in level of applications for extensions of Tier 2 stay and work visas in the information and communications Sector in the first three quarters of this calendar year.

Information on applicants for extensions of stay for work using sponsorship certificates, by tier and industry type (including information and communications) is published quarterly in the ‘Immigration Statistics’ release. The latest, to September 2018, can be found in table cs_04_q at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/immigration-statistics-year-ending-september-2018/list-of-tables#sponsorship

Secretary of State

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
