To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend to make a bilateral free trade agreement with New Zealand after Brexit.
Baroness Fairhead
The Minister of State, Department for International Trade
Both the UK and New Zealand have publicly committed to pursuing a bilateral Free Trade Agreement once the UK has left the EU.
In July 2018, my Rt Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade launched a consultation seeking views on future free trade agreement negotiations, including with New Zealand. The consultations closed in October and the Department for International Trade is currently considering the responses.

Secretary of State was originally the title given to the two officials who conducted the Royal Correspondence under Elizabeth I. Now it is the title held by some of the more important Government Ministers, for example the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
