To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, how many free trade agreements with third parties the UK is party to as a result of its membership of the EU ; and how many of those agreements the UK Government plans to replicate after the UK leaves the EU.

As an EU member state, the UK currently participates in around 40 free trade agreements. A list of these agreements can be found here: http://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/countries-and-regions/negotiations-and-agreements/.

The Government is seeking continuity for the effects of these agreements as we leave the EU.
