The British Embassy has raised the case of Asim Omer repeatedly with the Government of Sudan. In recent months there have been intensive discussions between Mr Omer's representatives and the family of the deceased. The British Embassy has not intervened in this private process. The British Embassy has attended Mr Omer's court hearings, including the most recent on 30 October. We continue to be concerned by reports by activists that Mr Omer has been subject to mistreatment in custody.
