Scotland Office written question – answered at on 17 October 2018.
What recent assessment he has made of the effect of the freeze on fuel duty on low income families in Scotland.
The Government recognises that transport is a major cost for households and businesses in Scotland.
That is why the Prime Minister recently announced that fuel duty will be frozen in 2019/20, a ninth successive freeze. This will benefit all drivers in Scotland and across the UK.
As a result of the last eight years of freezes, the average car driver has saved a cumulative £850 compared to pre-2010 escalator plans.
