Department for Work and Pensions written question – answered at on 13 September 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will introduce an automatic quality check on personal independence payment applications where a claimant has a reduction of 20 or more points in comparison to a previous assessment.
The Department and the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessment Providers have robust audit and assurance regimes in place to check the quality and consistency of PIP assessments. Therefore there are no current plans to introduce automatic quality checks on PIP applications resulting in a 20 point reduction.
