To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent discussions he had had with his Latin American counterparts on their response to Venezuelan refugees.

We are deeply concerned by this crisis, which is self inflicted and has caused huge pressure on the region. I spoke on 6 September with the Peruvian Foreign Minister, Nestor Popolizio, to discuss the situation, to receive an update on the recent Andean Community (Peru, Colombia and Ecuador) meeting in Lima, and on the Ecuador-convened "regional technical meeting" on Venezuela that took place in Quito on 3-4 September to discuss the migration crisis. The Foreign Secretary also discussed the crisis with the Colombian Foreign Minister in New York on 24 August.
