To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what plans he has to ensure that the Union flag is flown at British ports after the UK leaves the EU.

There are a number of regulations in relation to flying the Union Flag.

As port operators are independent, and are not public buildings/authorities they must make their own decision on flying the Union Flag . Broader port requirements and licensing conditions are set by Department for Transport.

The policy on flag protocols on public buildings is the preserve of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
