The Cycle to Work Scheme can be used to assist with the purchase of electrically assisted pedal cycles, and is one of the many ways in which the Government is supporting increased uptake in cycling, as set out in the 2017 Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy. The Government has not undertaken any detailed assessment of the impact of a higher uptake of electric bikes through the Cycle to Work Scheme on public finances.
