To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the Answer of 23 July 2018 to Question 165696, for what reasons he did not publish his response to the recommendations in the 2018 report of the School Teachers' Review Body before the summer adjournment.

The Department received the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) report on 18 May 2018 and Ministers have been considering its recommendations within the context of wider public sector pay policy. My right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State published the report and issued a written ministerial statement on 24 July. The statement sets out the Government’s proposed response to the report and officials wrote to statutory consultees to invite them to comment on the report, the Government’s response to it, the revised School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and accompanying Pay Order. The consultation ended on 3 September.
