Foreign and Commonwealth Office written question – answered on 4th September 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what diplomatic support the UK Government has provided to the (a) Sisma Mujer and (b) Somos Defensores organisations in Colombia; and what recent discussions his Department has had with representatives of those organisations on the (i) military and (ii) security threats made against those organisations.
We are aware of the list of 'military targets' announced by the group that calls itself the Aguilas Negras 'Black Eagles'. As well as NGO's, the list also includes prominent politicians and human rights defenders. The British Embassy in Bogota will discuss any specific threats with our project partners.
