To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, with reference to his Department's consultation on the use of section 19 and section 22 permits for road passenger transport in Great Britain, published on 8 February 2018, what steps his Department is taking to ensure that new guidance for community transport operators does not lead to the closure of transport schemes for older people.

Departmental officials are analysing responses to the Government’s consultation on the use of section 19 and section 22 permits for road passenger transport in Great Britain. This includes considering the responses received from community transport operators that provide services for older people. The Government’s response will be published in due course.
