To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, for what reason an automatic insulin pump is not classified as an (a) aid or (b) appliance for monitoring a health condition in relation to the award of points under descriptor 3 for a claim for a personal independence payment.

Personal Independence Payment Activity 3, managing therapy or monitoring a health condition, does not contain a descriptor that covers the use of aids and appliances for monitoring a health condition. However, an automatic insulin pump could be considered an aid under the descriptor that covers the use of aids and appliances for managing medication.
