Department for Education written question – answered at on 25 June 2018.
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what his policy is on allowing grammar schools to use the Condition Improvement Fund to fund their expansion, and if he will make a statement.
Fully and partially selective schools were not eligible to apply to the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) in 2018-19 for added places expansion projects, but they were able to apply for condition projects or to address overcrowding. All applications to the CIF are reviewed and prioritised on published criteria based on the needs of the individual school building, regardless of whether they are a selective school or not.
